Yay! You've booked a photo session with M.Martinez! The goal is to make this a fun, relaxing experience. Remember, no single session is perfect, and it doesn't have to be! As long as you're having fun, that's all that matters.

Preparing for your shoot

Now that your session is booked the fun begins. You may have never had pro photos taken or maybe you have, but my goal is to make this a fun, relaxing experience. Keep in mind that my sessions consist of lots of candid moments and interacting with one another. I like to shoot a number of different things, but I'm really looking for moments that showcase your personality. My favorite pictures are the ones where you can feel the energy behind it. It's all about feeling the connection between the people in the pictures.

Plan & Prepare

*It's time to start thinking what you're going to wear. You may think certain clothes will fit or that something is clean, but if you wait until the day of or day before you may run into an issue of clothes not fitting, being dirty or need to be dry cleaned. It's important to consider the weather & the location when deciding what you'll wear. Everyone should be comfortable during our shoot. This may seem odd but take a look at your home decor. Since you will be hanging these photos in your house you want to make sure the colors of your clothes go with the color scheme of your home.

*Start to build a playlist of music that reflects how you want to feel when you look at the finished photos. Choose songs that get you feeling sassy, fierce, or fun. It's all about how you want to feel during your shoot. This is going be the soundtrack of your experience so let's make it one you love.

*Begin to gather any props you need to bring your vision to life. This might be as elaborate as a piece of furniture or as simple as an umbrella. Give yourself time to gather everything in case you'll need to come up with a Plan B.

*Book any additional hair or nails appointments for 1-3 days before your session. If you're going to get styled the day of give yourself time for things to run late & for you to get from one place to the other without rushing.

The Night Before

*Make sure everyone is well-rested. A good nights sleep reflects in your

*Get what you're going to wear ready. If we're shooting outside you'll want to dress for the weather. We want everyone comfortable during the session. Your clothes may need to be ironed or steamed. need and pack anything you will need for the session.

*Drink lots of water. Alcohol and sugary drinks will dehydrate you, so consume with extra water. It's also best to avoid salty, & greasy food. This all helps make your skin look it's best.

*Do a little work out. This doesn't have to be anything strenuous or impactful, just enough to tighten your muscles a bit. A few wall push ups or squats will give you a firm look.

**Photo Shoot Day**

Get in the Mood

*Treat yourself. Go ahead & get that special coffee, mimosa, or snack. This is your day, you should come in feeling your best!

Give Yourself Time

*Give yourself plenty of time to get ready and to arrive. Rushing to the session will most likely result in a rushed feeling during the session!

Eat Something

*Don't come hungry! This could make for some cranky adults; or worse...cranky toddlers depending on our session.

Have FUN!

Let loose a little, fun and laughter really bring out peoples personalities and make for some awesome pictures. So relax, goof-off a bit and let yourself have a good time!
