My First short Film

When I started my project about La Catrina I knew that I was going to film the process as much I was going to photograph it. The more I work on identity based projects, the more I realize that to fully tell the story I might need to bring in another medium besides photography. Film is a new medium to me, and one that I am learning with the help of Open Signal, a community media resource in Portland.

While my project is still in progress, I created a short film for my artist talk at Milagro that features interviews, behind the scenes footage, and a brief history of La Catrina. Although I was not officially part of Open Signals Summer Cohort, I have been invited to share my film at their screening on December 8th alongside other budding filmmakers.
