What A Year
Thanks to the Regional Arts & Culture Council of Portland's Make, Learn Build Grant, this year I had the privilege of being part of the Reclaim Power Program. It was an experience that I treasure for so many reasons. To be able to meet, support, and be inspired by so many amazing changemakers from all over the world has been incredible. Together, we dived into why we each do what we do. Examining not only the reasoning behind our purpose, but also the different paths to make the kind of lasting change we each envision. Throughout the year we've all been working on different projects and as the year comes to an end, we'd like to share the work that we've been doing with you.
December 11th, you're invited to an online showcase of the different projects that we've each been working on. I'll be sharing a brand-new story from my ongoing series, Media From Earth 2.7. When I started the program, I didn't know exactly what project I would be called to work on. I just knew that I wanted to begin decolonizing my understanding and relationship with photography. Through this experience I've gained a better understanding of what kind of creator, teacher, and person that I am and want to be. I can't wait to share not only this newest installment of this project but also the wisdom gleaned through this experience.
Thank you for encouraging me as an artist and for your ongoing support in my desire to bring positive change to the world.
THANK YOU!
